Should I use a Face Covering/Mask?
The UK Government advice is for people to aim to wear a mask on public transport and in some shops, enclosed spaces, and where social distancing is not possible.
The WHO says countries must weigh the risks and benefits when it comes to advising the whole populations about wearing face coverings.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control agrees that medical face masks should be prioritised for healthcare workers.
But it says non-surgical face masks might help stop the spread of coronavirus by people who are contagious but have no symptoms (known as asymptomatic transmission).
Scientists in Singapore suggest that risk is especially high in the 24-48 hours before an infected person is even aware they might have the disease.
Coronavirus is spread by droplets that can spray into the air when those infected talk, cough and sneeze. These can enter the body through the eyes, nose and mouth, either directly or after touching a contaminated object.

I am working in a hospital, Clinic, or as a Carer looking after sick or elderly people is the Air Armor mask suitable for me?
The Air armor Mask is not suitable to be used in a hospital, clinic or any medical setting by members of a healthcare team or Carers as it is not a medical mask and is not designed as PPE. The hospital you work at will have an infection control policy which should be used when dealing with infected patients. Recommended and certified masks should be used in these settings.
One-use masks
The World Health Organization recommends that all healthcare workers treating people with the virus wear these surgical masks, along with gloves, goggles and gowns. Surgical masks are thought to be more effective in a clinical setting because they are accompanied by other protective equipment and stringent hygiene practices. The masks are also frequently replaced – surgical masks are not designed to be used more than once.
N95 masks
I have heard a lot about N95 Masks and Respirators should I get one of those?
N95 respirators are designed to prevent 95 per cent of small particles from entering the nose and mouth area. But they only work if they fit properly, and aren’t suitable for children or people with facial hair.
N95 respirators can also make it more difficult for a person to breathe, so could be dangerous for someone showing symptoms of infection of the new coronavirus, which include coughing and shortness of breath.

You can read the USA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines on Coronavirus here:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/transmission.html
“It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.”
DOES THE Air Armor MASK PROTECT YOU FROM COVID-19?
The protection against viruses depends on the particle size of the aerosols containing infectious viruses. The sizes of these virus-containing particles differ from just the naked virus diameter (0,02–0,03 µm) to the sizes of the carrier particles. According to a study of the influenza virus, the virus-containing particles vary largely in size and 5% of the particles where larger than 4 µm, 75.5% was 1–4 µm and 19.5% smaller 1 µm. In another study of FMDV, 65–71% of the virus-containing particles were over 6 µm in diameter, 19–24% was 3 - 6 µm and 10–11% were under 3 µm.
The Air Armor mask is designed as face covering to help stop spreading germs and viruses by limiting the effects of coughs and sneezes, by the wearer, we cannot, and do not claim that the mask protects the wearer against viruses or Covid 19 specifically.
During the Pandemic should I wash my mask?
Thorough washing should remove viruses and bacterial from all surfaces including hands, masks and worktops etc.
Air Armor Masks are machine and hand washable, and should then be hung dry
You can find full washing instructions on the instructions leaflet that will come with your mask.
